Eight Grade Promotion Information
Date: May 30, 2019 Time: 7:00 p.m.
- Doors to the Gym will open at 5:00pm
- If you are having individual pictures taken by Ed Clarke, they will begin at 5:45pm in the high school gym.
- If you are not having individual pictures taken, be in the cafeteria at 6:15 p.m.
- Bring your robe on a hanger and dress in the high school gym. Boys must have a shirt with a collar, tie, and dress shoes are encouraged. Slacks may be dress pants or khakis. Denim Blue Jeans are not acceptable slacks. Girls should wear dresses (or a nice blouse & dress slacks) and dress shoes. Sandals should have heel straps. NO FLIP FLOPS and NO BARE FEET.
- Your class picture will be taken at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Line-up for the processional will be at 6:50 p.m. in the cafeteria. No Gum.
- 7:00 p.m. Enter the gym – meet partner under west basket.
- Walk down center court – stay together as you walk up stairs to stage – split to assigned chair & stay standing.
- Mr. Kratochvil will come forward & ask you to be seated.
- WELCOME . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Mr. Alexander)
- Special Recognition: Stand in place when Mr. Kratochvil announces your name.
- American History Award (DAR) – (Mr. Kratochvil) . . . Step forward to receive award.
- American Legion – (Mr. Sheedy) . . . . Step forward to receive award.
- Presentation of Class (Mr. Alexander) . . . . . . . . . . the class will stand.
- Awarding of Promotion Certificates (Mr. Ward & Mr. Kratochvil). When receiving an award; accept your certificate with your left hand and cross right to shake the presenter’s hand, pause & smile to give the photographer time to take a good picture.
- Mr. Kratochvil will ask the class to rise, closing comments will be made & the recessional music will begin.
- Walk down aisle w/ partner to the door nearest the boy’s locker room; continue to cafeteria to form a receiving line wrapping around the inside of the cafeteria. Stay in receiving line until crowd thins.
REMINDERS:
- Practice will be Thursday morning, May 30 at 9:30 a.m.
- All fees including gown, promotion photos and other student fees, such as library books, damage to books, lunch charges, return of athletic uniforms, etc. need to be paid &/or returned.
- You must remain in the receiving line in the cafeteria until the crowd is done.
