Kallie Link
Our May student of the month is senior Kallie Link. Kallie is the daughter of Rodger and Lisa Link. Kallie does not have any siblings. Kallie currently ranks eighth in her class.
Kallie is a very active student. She is the vice president of the student council and the band. She is a member of rotary, principal’s advisory, and the scholastic bowl. Her honors are being invited to the Lion’s Club academic banquet and most improved dancer at Dance N' Flip studio. Kallie was also named to the honor band.
Kallie enjoys dancing, writing fiction, listening to various music styles and eating delicious food. Her future plans are to enroll at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and major in dental hygiene. She would also like to travel Europe and write professionally. Kallie states, “The best part of being a student at Pawnee high school is messing with the great teachers whom she will miss a lot.” Congratulations to both of our students.
Each month PHS Junior and Senior students are nominated by teachers to become Student of the Month. Names are submitted and voted on by Student Council members.
The winner is notified when Student Council members parade the halls with horns, blowers, and whistles to surprise the unsuspecting honoree with a crown and gift certificate.
Winners are also recognized at the monthly board meeting and presented with a certificate.
