Kathryn "Kailey" Diane Wilmarth, 14, of Chatham, went to be with the LORD on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO after complications from leukemia.

She was born on December 21, 1996 in Springfield, IL to Gary and Shelli Wilmarth of Chatham.

Kailey attended Glenwood Middle School where she was active in cross-country, volleyball, and track. She was a state qualifier in the pole vault. She was also a leader in the school's Fellowship of Christian Athlete's (FCA) huddle, Beta Club member, received numerous art awards, was a straight-A student, and was selected as "Student of the Month." She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield and her hobbies included gymnastics, the arts, taking care of her dogs Bella and Taylor, and being with friends.

Kailey is survived by her parents, two brothers Brian (Jessica) of Boston, MA and Neil of Chatham, grandparents Bill and Janet Zimmer of San Jose and Judy Wilmarth of Leaf River, several aunts, uncles, and 31 first cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Wilmarth.

Visitation will be from 3 till 7 pm, Sunday, May 15, 2011 at First United Methodist Church (2941 South Koke Mill Road, Springfield). Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 16th at 10:00am at the church with Rev. Bob Swickard officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Cemetery.

Her sweet disposition and her caring personality will be greatly missed.
