But the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child. Mrs. Ann Clarizio 1950 - 2009

Ann Clarizio May 30, 1950 -- April 16, 2009 Ann Will Be Sadly Missed Ann was the daughter of Glen and Francis Rutherford. She was born May 30, 1950 and was married to Carl Clarizio.  She has been employed with SASED as a Speech Teacher for 36 years. She taught in Divernon and Auburn before moving to Pawnee Schools. She served as the Pawnee School Speech Teacher from 1988 to the time of her death. The Staff and Students at Pawnee Schools Wish to express our Deepest Sympathies to her husband, Carl, her daughter, Katie, a 2008 graduate of Pawnee High School now attending University of Illinois, and her son, C .J., a junior at Pawnee High School. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you all.

Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Methodist Church in Pawnee The funeral will be held Monday - April 20 2:30 P.M. (School will be dismissed at 2:00 P.M. on Monday - April 20)   The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a scholarship fund that will be set up in Ann's memory. Checks may be made out to the Pawnee Educational Foundation. Anyone wishing to donate food to the Clarizio family, should deliver the food to Randy & Patty Williams' house.

PAWNEE - Katharine "Ann" Clarizio, 58, of Pawnee died at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Ann was born the daughter of Glenn and Katharine Frances Springer Rutherford on May 30, 1950, in Springfield. She married Carl Clarizio Jr. on Oct. 12, 1985, in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald; and an infant brother, Charles. Mrs. Clarizio received her master's degree in education at Western Illinois University. She worked for SASED for more than 32 years as a speech language pathologist, and she was active in extracurricular activities. Ann was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church, and she was a volunteer with the Pawnee Ambulance Service. She also served on the library board for many years. She is survived by her husband, Carl, of Pawnee; son, C.J. Clarizio III, of Pawnee; daughter, Katie Clarizio, of Pawnee; one brother, Glenn (wife, June) Rutherford, of Auburn; and four nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Pawnee United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Monday, April 20, 2009, at 2:30 p.m., at Pawnee United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Troy D. Benitone and Rev. George Bucks officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pawnee Community Education Foundation, Pawnee C.U.S.D. #11, 810 N. Fourth St., Pawnee, IL 62558. The family of Katharine "Ann" Clarizio is being served by Curry Funeral Home, 407 Carroll, Pawnee, IL 62558.
