National Honor Society Selection Process

In January, the NHS faculty sponsor reviews student cumulative GPAs.  A student’s cumulative GPA must be above 3.6 to be considered eligible.  Freshmen are not eligible.

Qualifying students are given NHS applications.  Every high school teacher evaluates each qualifying student on character, leadership, and service.

The Faculty Council meets to review the applications.  This Council is made up of five faculty members, not including the NHS faculty sponsor.  The Council chooses new members, putting equal weight on cumulative GPA, character, leadership, and service.

All applicants are informed of their status.
