New Superintendent
On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Pawnee School District #11 officially employed Mr. Scott Cameron to the position of Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Cameron received a three (3) year contract and will begin his duties on July 1, 2019.
Mr. Cameron is a 1989 graduate of Shelbyville High School. He later went on to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he received his Bachelors Degree in Administration of Justice. Mr. Cameron decided to start a career in education. He received his Bachelors of Education, Master of Science in Education, and Specialist in Education Degrees from Eastern Illinois University.
He started his career in education with the Kansas School District as a teacher and coach. From there he continued his teaching career in the Effingham School District. He started his administrative career in Tower Hill. After Tower Hill was annexed into the Pana School District, Mr. Cameron would become the principal at Central A&M Middle School. For the past 10 years, Mr. Cameron has been the Superintendent of Schools for the Beecher City School District.
Scott and his wife Monica have two children in college. Scott is looking forward to leading the Pawnee School District and becoming a part of the Pawnee Community.
