Congratulations Pawnee Grade School and Junior High School on Achieving 2011 AYP
The Pawnee Grade School
and Junior High School

In Both Math and Reading
For the 2010 - 2011 School Year

In reading, 90.6% of the students in Grades 3 - 8
met or exceeded the State Standards.
In math, 92.2% of the students in Grades 3 - 8
met or exceeded the State Standards.
The students showed a significant rise in their reading scores...
2010 - 84.4% of the students met or exceeded
2011 - There was a 6.2% increase in their scores
The State's AYP minimum target for 2011 is 85%
The state's minimum target for...
2012 - The Target will be 92.5%
2013 - The Target will be 92.5%
2014 - The Target will be 100%

According to the Illinois Principal's Association...
"School report cards statewide show the number
of schools falling short of the ever-rising bar for
AYP jumped to 1,999 or 51% in 2010,
from 40% in 2009.
Overall, our statewide averages continue to increase or hold steady but the number of
schools making AYP continues to decline-now outnumbering those districts that do make AYP.
We need to modify No Child Left Behind to take into account student growth and improvements in learning, rather than just penalizing schools for not meeting artificial performance targets."

Pawnee Grade School and Junior High School students have been successful in meeting and exceeding the state standards for another year!
A BIG THANK YOU goes to the teachers and parents for helping our students!
Congratulations!
