Congratulations PHS Student of the month, We are proud of you!

Brock Bennett, a senior at Pawnee High School, has been selected as the September Student of the Month. Brock is the son of A.B. and Christi Bennett. Brock was honored with a certificate at the September 24, 2009, school board meeting and received a gift card from the Pawnee High School Student Council.

Brock is ranked 7^th in a class of 52 and has been an academic honor roll student throughout high school. He has been honored in previous years at the Lions Club Academic Banquet for academic achievement. Brock is a member of the National Honor Society. Leadership positions include serving as president of the Band, Student Leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the president of the National Honor Society. He is also a student leader in his church youth group. Brock has also competed in Blackburn College’s Science Day.

Brock participates in the Pawnee High School Band. His junior year, he was selected for the Top Jazz Award at the Tri-County Honor Band Festival. All three years of high school thus far, Brock has been selected for the Louie Armstrong Award for Jazz. His junior year, he was selected as the Most Outstanding in the Pawnee High School band. In 2008 and 2009, Brock won the wind/brass solo competition at the Assembly of God National Fine Arts Competition. He frequently is called upon to play his saxophone as a soloist.

Brock is participating in golf this year. All three years of high school, he has participated in baseball. Brock earned a varsity letter his sophomore and junior years.

Mr. Bennett performs his saxophone at weddings and other venues. After high school, Brock plans to attend North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He plans to major in music.
