Pawnee Grade School Makes AYP for 2009
Pawnee
Grade School
Makes
AYP for 2009
Pawnee
Grade School announces
students in grades 3-6
have made AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress)
for the 2008-2009 school year.
70% of students in a school must exceed or meet
in reading and mathematics on the ISAT test
to be considered to meet the state's
Adequate Yearly Progress.
This
year 85.1% of the Pawneestudents
met
or exceeding in reading.
In math, 92% of the Pawnee students
met
or exceeded.
Students are
tested in early March
in reading
and math;
they are also tested in writing and science.
The No
Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires all states to measure
each public school's and district's achievement and establish
annual achievements for the state. The overarching goal is
for all students to meet or exceed standards in reading in
mathematics by 2014. Each year, the state will calculate a
school or district's AYP to determine if students are improving
their performance based on the established annual targets.
Congratulations
to the Pawnee Grade School Students and Teachers
For Making AYP!
Thank you
to the parents, Pawnee community,
School Board members,
and Pawnee
School staff
for making Pawnee Schools
a great
place to learn.
