Reading Night Huge Success
A great time was had by all!
On Friday, March 20, 2009 our
Pawnee PTO hosted the annual Family Reading Night. This year's
theme was "Under the Big Top." A free dinner of pizza, salad,
cookies and drinks was provided and served in the school cafeteria
beginning at 6 p.m. Pizzas were provided by CASEYS in
Pawnee.

At 6:45 the program
began with an awesome juggling, comedy, and magic act presented by
the talented and entertaining Troy Roark. He kept the group
laughing and enthralled with his skill, as well as his gift for
keeping the audience guessing about what he would do
next.
Following the magic act, the group of over 130 participants split up into smaller groups to enjoy stories read by guest readers. This year's surprise readers were Mrs. Cline our wonderful principal, Mrs. Vreeland a very entertaining, gifted reader who teaches HS Math, and our delightful Kindergarten teacher trio, Mrs. Ryherd, Mrs. Jankousky, and Mrs. Holderread.
The evening concluded at around 8:30 with a used book exchange. Each child who attended not only brought a gently used book on their reading level, but they also got to choose a book to take home with them. Needless to say, a great time was had by all, young, old, and every age in between!
